Man lives in and is identified deeply
with his spirit in which the three faculties of thinking,
feeling and willing reside. For a successful social life
it is necessary that each of these soul faculties finds
the right dimension in which to express itself.
The ideals of freedom, equality and brotherhood proclaimed
by the Conte de Saint Germain before the French revolution,
address these three requirements. Freedom is the
guiding ideal of thinking, equality similarly
in the legal aspects of our life, and brotherhood is central
in the economic life of Man's will. The ideal of thinking is
that one in which we can be connected with the world
of the spirit. It would have, for example, to predomninate
in the education of the children, in such a way as to allow
development free from every external influence imposed
to satisfy the expectations of single men or of governments.
The sphere of our feeling nature
governs the proper social relations with
other men. In this sphere the idiosyncracies and the talents
of individuals are not important, but it is crucial that
all have the same rights.
Finally in the sphere of the will,
that from which emerges our economy, everyone
must be assured the possibility to procure the necessities
of self-maintenance. Since no one
can make everything for themselves, the satisfaction of
each persons requirements happens through the collaboration
and the exchange of goods with other men. For
this reason the fundamental aspect of this sphere is brotherhood.
